I'm a boomer still surprised to discover that I'm not young anymore. Where have all those years gone?

I'm not finished with myself yet. I'm still wanting to define myself and my legacy. I know I will never be rich, so all I can bequeath my descendants will be my "works."

I've struggled with depression all of my life and still do, but I'm not allowing that to be my label, hence my label, "Choose Joy."

I spent my life in the wrong profession--teaching elementary school. At times it was frustrating and I do not look back on my working years with great fondness, but there are memories that make me smile. I love children and hope that I did make a difference. My daughters, husband and colleagues have all told me that I should have taught English. In fact, my daughters told me that I was a better English teacher than any they ever had!

I love reading and writing. I always wanted to publish, but I lack that self-promoting drive that is necessary to get myself out there.
